I'm not really into sports and I can actually say I have peanuts and crackerjacks at home at the moment.

Have you ever met a rock star? Well, maybe not a rock star, but the equivalent of a rock star? This week, Kurt Vories, a pro downhill mountain biker, visited the bike shop I work at as part of a demo tour. He's in all the magazines, and videos, so in our twisted little world, he's like a rock star. Anyway, we all got to...

I went to see Art School Confidential tonight. Although it wasn't the slapstick comedy I expected, it was OK, but just OK.

I got an unexpected cash bonus today at work for a job well done. For some reason, it felt really good to be appreciated.
go2hellkitty:
glad you got some recognition at work. yeah I finally have a few things going on for me besides the bank. its nice.
user209834982:
wow, thats nice of your job.

Yesterday, I went on a night ride in the woods on my mountain bike. It was a pretty incredible time even though I wiped out in a creek. Afterwards, I enjoyed some beers and food in the company of good people.

I had a great day at work today. Tonight, I went out for Mexican food and beers with family that are in town for...

There was an annual art show this weekend called Art All Night. Anybody can enter one piece of art into the show, and it is open to the public for 24 hours straight. I went to see the show, but didn't enter anything of my own. I saw a lot of good ideas that were poorly executed, and then just a lot of bad...

Last night, I went to a birthday dinner for an old friend. While the resturaunt was nice, and the food was good, I found myself among a bunch of strangers. Usually, this would be a great chance to meet some new people, but I just felt a little out of sorts. There's that moment when you realize you just don't have much in common with...

I feel like that a lot especially when I am amongst people who do not know how to operate the English language. I watched my boss get a lesson from one of my other coworkers the on the differences between do, dew, and due. I have a friend that does not realize that 'suposably' is not a real work. I have another friend who does not know how to spell the name of her own cat. I feel like there is a shortage of intelligence in the world today. Even the President of the United States cannot speak worth a damn and he was elected because the majority of the people in this country don't notice. Sorry, I just had to rant for a moment. I hope you are doing well.

A friend came in to the shop recently to buy a bike. A few days later he mentioned that everybody working there looked like they should be working in a bike shop. He went on to say that I looked like a cross between a bike shop employee and someone who works in an independant record shop. I thought it was a funny observation since...

I got a new bicycle frame, and built it up with old parts over the past few weeks. I finally got a chance to take it out on the trail yesterday. A regular mountain bike has 26" tires, and this one has 29" tires. Basicaaly, it's a mountain bike with road bike size wheels. I got it out on the trail for the first time...

I had a pretty uneventful weekend. Saturday was crazy at work, and Sunday was a day of yard work and spring cleaning. Today is another day off, but the weather is kind od wacky right now... crazy thunder showers with the possibility of tornados.

I'm nearly finished reading Fight Club. I loved the movie, but the book is much better. At first, my mind had...

I know, I know I haven't updated in forEVER. Work is steadily going downhill. They are starting to get rid of the people who aren't selling and bring in brand new people who will. They have gotten rid of regional managers that have been with the company for 15+ years. It is scary especially since I am in a slow location that doesn't produce any new sales really. I applied for a supervisor position in a non sales department of my company hoping to save my job and they called me yesterday and said they only interviewed the three most qualified people. They didn't even ask what my qualifications were before decided that other people would be better. I am more than qualified for that position. Needless to say it kinda ticked me off since that was my last chance to get a promotion with this company probably before they eliminate my position. Anyway, I guess I will stop my ranting and go eat some breakfast. Glad to hear you are doing well.

Well, I don't know what kind of books you like to read, but I really enjoyed Church of Dead Girls by Stephen Dobyns, which is sort of a small town murder mystery. I also liked Lightning and Watchers be Dean Koontz. Lighting had a lot of action and time travel and stuff and was pretty cool. Its about trying to change the past and its reprocussions as well as the ability to change someone's fate. Just some thoughts.
