It's a pretty lousy day in the neighborhood. There's thunder and lightning which bring with them freezing rain. It makes for bad driving conditions, and chills me to the bone. Today is one of those days that I just don't want to go to work.

Last night, empathy_girl and I went out for dinner with some friends. I met some new people who were fairly nice. The one guy who joined us was in the Air Force and stationed in Alaska. It was pretty interesting to here stories of daily life there. Afterwards, we went to my friend's house to see the progress he's made. Almost a year ago, he bought a house and completely gutted it to begin remodeling. It's now nearing completion and it was amazing to see the difference. I'm sure it'll be rewarding for him when he's done.

On the way home, we stopped through the drive-thru at McDonald's for the one and only thing I'll go there for...Shamrock Shakes. It's too bad you can only get them this time of year!
