i think world war 2 began at my school this week.

there was a fight 1st period monday morning (side note: how do you even have enough energy to make that happen) and lots of shenanigans all this week only to culminate in another lovely fight this afternoon which got cleaned up by the police in just enough time for me to walk outside and see one 6th grader throw a bottle at another 6th graders so that she BLED PROFUSELY FROM HER EYE.

oh jesus. i sometimes forget that this is what i signed up for. 2 years of teaching in hell. for what? so that i am really grateful whenever i end up teaching anywhere else but here?

the irony is that i'm signing on for another year. i am kind of starting to feel like i'm settled in this environment. the kids know me, and for the ones that aren't crazy, i kinda love em. it's also looking like i will switch apartments to something slightly bigger, but stay in my building, which should keep me pretty sane.

what's that you say? consistency in my life? we can't have that now, i don't quite understand what that is like.
