Ok, so I have returned unfortunately. I had a lot of fun on my trip, I don't even know where to start writing about it. I will give a brief synopsis, and then hopefully I can figure out a way to write out the whole thing, like a story or something..

Day 1( Thursday):

After driving for over 11 hours, we finally make it to Red Bank, New Jersey. By this point, we have been awake for over 24 hours..... we end up finding Broadstreet, and there it is. Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash. They don't open for another hour, so we go to a neat little place called the Broadway Diner for breakfast. We eat and have fun listening to the ranting and raving of 3 old guyssitting behind us. THey all have thick New York accents, and from what they are saying, they are obviously republicans. I am not a republican, but listening to them talk is so amusing, i can't even care. That is when it sets in that we are hundreds , almost a thousand, miles away from home. It is awesome.
We finally make it to the Stash, and walk in. It is everything I thought it could be. They have the whole View Askew movie memorabillia museum set up in the back of the store, I got a picture with the giant Buddy Christ prop from the movie. Very very surreal.
We finally make it to Cherry Hill, New Jersey about 2 hours later, and by that point, we are trying to figure out why we can't turn left anywhere. We see our hotel, and it is on the left side, but there are retaining walls everywhere and we can't seem to find a place to turn from . We pass up ouri hotel and we are both getting ready to scream from lack of sleep, and confusion. Then we see a sign that says "All turns here" and it is this weird side street that you loop around on, and we are finally able to make a left turn. We find out later that these are called "Jug-handles". You can't turn left in New Jersey. Well, I think that is the stupidest thing I have ever seen and heard in a long time.
We finally get into our room , and crash.

Day 2 (Friday):

We get down to the convention, and go into the autograph room, and there is Sid Haig just standing around goofing off with everyone, this guys is a cool cat, he even stood outside and taked to us for a while, almost everyday of the convention. His assistant , Susan, was awesome too. I ended up giving her an SG sticker, and she seemed enthusiastic about wanting to check out the site. It is still awesome to look back and think, I hung out with Captain Spaulding. Sid Haig was great.
I then tripped out while meeting Betsy Palmer, who is Jason's mom, the original Killer, in Friday the 13th. She was the SWEETEST person/celebrity I have ever met. She gave me a big bear hug and offered to take a photo with me. She was so adorable, it was hard for me to think of her as the psycho she protrays in the movie. Really bizaare.
I also met, and got autographs from

Danielle Harris ( who I wound up talking to and hanging out with the next day, really nie girl)

CJ Graham (also really rad)

Lisa Wilcox

Alex Vincent (who I ended up talking to outside, during a smoke break, real nice guy)

and many more!

ALso , we ended up catching a really great showing of The Rocky Horror PIcture Show, blew our local cast out of the water. They were all great, The best cast of actors for the show I have seen. They performed a great skit beforehand mixing LIttle Shop of Horrors and Rocky Horror together. It was really great. Check out the Philadelphia cast whenver you get a chance. Really alot of energy, and fun.

After the show, we find out that we have to be up and at the convention the next morning at 8 am , if we want to get time vouchers to meet Robert Englund .....

I will continue my convention story in tomorrows entry....
wink

That is very fucking cool that you went to the Monster Mania Con. I normally try to hit up a few Horror Cons each year. Cinema Wasteland in Cleveland has by far been my favorite since it's more driven to 70's horror and grindhouse trash.

Your are probably aware of this, but if not....Louisville has it's own smaller con every year called Wonderfest. The it's mainly a model con, but they do have a lot of horror guests (George Romero, Tom Savini, Ken Foree, Greg Nicotero, Caroline Monroe, Ben Chapman, ect....).
