Well, I'm finally updating.. yay. I haven't spent much time at all here since they redid it - I'm sure it's fine once you get used to it, but I don't have time to, so it still pretty much sucks for me. *shrug* I mean, it looks nice, but I'm used to the old setup and navigating that.. so much is either missing or just moved now.
Anyway, not sure what to share at this point. I was going to have a new set to submit (the first time we shot it not enough of the shots came out well/had much variety with what came out, and the next time I went up it rained), but someone just used the same theme - would have been nice if she at least put as much effort into it or more, since I can't use mine now, but whatever. I had been trying to meet up with Oryx too, but well, that's never going to happen now.
The last two Mondays my friend and I have been going to karaoke, and we got to meet a bunch of the GTA folks, so that was fun. Not that it wouldn't have been anyway, especially when it's Pete's show, but there are definately some extra perks. The downside would be me not being able to hear much, unless people were right by my ear, so I got to sit there looking very lost when I wasn't paying close attention to whoever was singing.
Unfortunately, this time I tried driving.. I still can't get an ok from my doctors, but I really wanted to go and my friend was too tired to pick me up and drop me back off. The drive in was ok, though everyone was being stupid like they'd never seen rain before, and it took me 2 hours to get there, instead of 1. The ride home was pretty painful... I'm sure the 3.5 hours sleep didn't help, and maybe not making that drive in 7 months added to it, but there wasn't even anything good on the radio to help keep me alert... I really just wanted to come home and nap before I had to go to work till 11 tonight. I called the border info line to see which bridge I wanted, and it said "minimal to no delays at all bridges"... I waited half an hour. And then I got to pull over while they grilled me and tore all through my car and left everything in disarray. Because yanno, I love feeling like a criminal. And always being asked where I was born and having to try to prove it. What the fuck do I look like??? And I work at that damned bridge... I've been there a year and a half and they seemed to think I was lying about it. So yah, doesn't look like I'm going to nap, and at this rate, I don't want to have to cross that damned border again, and that's where my only social life is.
