Does it ever bother you when people say.....
"Why do you do that to yourself? You are such a pretty girl......"
Wow.....my mom said something the other day that just blew my mind....it left me speechless.....i couldnt even respond......i didnt know how to respond........i was hoping that she didnt realize what she has just said.
She bought another jar of Jiff peanut butter and I said that we already have 4 jars of peanut butter in the pantry. She said that it is all that gritty peanut butter and I said that its not all the nutty kind, it is 1 Jiff Natural....1 Organic Creamy....1 Organic Nutty...and 1 Nature Pure Low Sodium. And then she says......
"I don't like to eat that natural stuff."
........huh.......you dont eat natural foods? foods naturally produced in nature?
And then she goes off on me for buying the "Green Works" Kitchen Cleaner spray from Clorox instead of the Bleach based one. I am the one who cleans the whole house every day and it is hard for me to inhale so often and it causes serious damage to my hands......plus, I dont mind buying a green product. I am all for cleaner living. She says something like.....are you going to save the world all by yourself? I really think that one bottle of this crap is really going to make a difference. Where do you think they put all those water bottles you recycle? Why dont you go over to a third world country and spend some time there and then come back and buy a bottle of green cleaner and recycle some bottles and see if it really makes a difference in the world.......wow. all because i bought one bottle of a cleaner product that doesnt irritate my skin.....I have to wonder what the underlying issue is here. She is a good Christian woman but she doesnt care about the world that her God gave her. I really just dont understand sometimes.....It just leaves me feeling confused and irritated and sad.
