hokey pokey
i'm watching, god knows why, 'what lies beneath' on the tv (which i havent seen yet- despite it being all of ten years old!) and i'm in the flat by myself, and the windows are open cos we're drying out our kitchen floor, and i'm really scared (haha!) so i'm going to write a blog and keep my eyes off that creepy mirror horror thing thats going on!
as for the land of liz...
things are vastly improved. besides the odd hormonal tantrum that i seem to be prone to pulling, i think i may just be getting my act together and ass in motion. i off loaded a lot of commitments which were on my shoulders (after a LOT of encouragement!) and hey, what do ya know, i kinda feel a bit less stressed
work got shit, so i applied for a couple of others, and got one! yay! i have now progressed from dull old Arts Assistant, to Events Support Officer. That's right- an Officer none the less! hehe, seriously though, i'm going to have to eat some humble pie and hit the floor running with this job-lots of events, responsibillities and so much to learn, i can't be getting cocky at the title
it feels good to have made a proper step from graduating though. That was two years ago now, and since then I feel as if I've been begging for opportunities, working for free, not taking time owed to me and being a general dogsbody- all whilst not even knowing if this is the career path I want to be on. i'm still not sure, don't get me wrong, but at least i'll get a better pay packet for the stress headaches
creepy music is back on...keep typing...
um, it's Timskin's birthday today, let's all give him a poke, cos he's great! it's my birthday in a couple of weeks too, and oddly it has also fallen on my last day as Arts Assistant. A good way to start off 23! I'm taking a week's break after that, not sure if I'll even have a weekend off in the next few months with the new job (the downside of events management are the ridiculous hours), so its best that i squish a week's break in when i can. i had quite a plan for a beach holiday, something about cocktails, boat trips and sand which seemed very appealing! nevertheless, this wasn't all that practical- something about sunburn, post holiday tiredness and oodles of washing which isn't a great start to the new job!! As a lovely compromise, I am off to gay Paris for four days, I've never been, it's great value and looks to be an amazing city so i'm actually really excited. maybe because i'm thinking about the good red wine....but whatever floats your boat right?
jesus i don't know why i'm watching this. especially as my window backs onto a shop roof that can be accessed from the ground! with the windows open1! what a numpty. we're drying out the floor by the way because my darling brother/ landlord decided to finally pull up our floor tiles in the kitchen and investigate the increasing red goo that was seeping out between them. this has been happening for....um...since February?? anyways, we discovered a leak in the washing machine plumbing and the floor was under about two inches of dark nasty old water
boo!! so the windows are open. it's nearly all gone, but landlord says i can't close them until it's all finished. hark at him!!
arrghhh!! there's two of them. this is a freaky film. boo
so um....yeah, things are ok. i still need to get up to my allotment, tidy things over and decide what i'll be doing with it when i move. i need to find somewhere to sleep in Canterbury, i need to sort through my crap at home, at the flat and get it organised before i move too. i don't want to be hauling junk around for no reason, and i have such a load of stuff. i should look into selling it on really.....
hopefully this weekend i will be celebrating mr's birthday, and giving him his presents, which i didn't manage today. and maybe doing a little adventure somewhere, always fun! we'll see we'll see....
i'm off to try and cope with the end of this film- wish me luck!!
