i saw a bird get hit by a car yesterday. i think it was a swallow. all of its companions flew out of the road, and it looked up into the air a little, back and forth. i was coming from the other direction in my car, not really comprehending that the bird might not fly out of the way. i don't know if it...

went out to buy job interview clothes today - no luck. i'm not the same shape i was awhile ago - i need to start going to yoga again. i think that i'll go to my yoga studio and ask if they need anyone to do odd jobs. like cleaning floors or filling in at the front desk or something.. maybe even if they need...

and suddenly, and unexpectedly, the fog lifts. i have an interview on saturday. the job doesn't pay well, and it's not many hours, but it's a job. and if i get it, i can work at two jobs, which i think might be better anyway - less boring that way. i'd be working in a physical therapy office, doing front desk stuff, and also being...

I noticed you posted something about wishing you had gone to the Dahlia video shoot. If I do another video for them I'll be sure to get them in it, you have a cool look.

right now i hate everything and everyone. there's nothing specific wrong; i'm just unhappy. stress takes some sort of terrible toll on me way out of proportion with the actual stressor. i thought this was the time full of possibility, when we could travel or try new things or run around in circles until we fall down. i don't know if it's the people i...

you don't need to get over it just yet. scream and cry and laugh and put on a bunch of eyeliner and drink a fine bottle of wine. that always makes me feel better.
you are beautiful and intelligent and kind. the world is your oyster, my dear.
r_dominique:
poor sad mei... things will improve. but take care of yourself when you feel this way.

bubble baths make me feel better. barring that, a bottle of bubbles for blowing is always an upper.

the sun is out today.. i think that maybe finally the world is learning what time of year it is. it's late this year - usually there are some really beautiful days in mid-april - and there were some ok days, but none take-off-your-clothes-and-sit-in-the-sun warm.

i need to look up a recipe that requires mint. we have a bunch of mint growning in our front...

hmmm...I'm not entirely sure everything DOES happen for a reason, beyond the reasons you make of it. I do believe, though, that you are responsible for making your own meaning out of life, and taking resposibility for your own actions, which you seem to be doing.

The only German you'll ever need to know is:

Ich bin ein Berliner.
Ja.
Bitte.
Danke.

I also have a hard time deciding why plants act as they do simply because I'd rather believe that there is some sort of omniscient force that permeates everything.

Unfortunately, I can never really bring myself to decide one way or another.

i got up early this morning to go see a friend's graduation, so i'm tired. the ceremony was really boring.. does anyone really like listening to long graduation speeches? i don't think so... they invited the governor to speak, which was a real stellar idea on their part.. it reminded me of my grandfather's funeral.. it happened in a church, and the main speaker was...

Your writing is sometimes almost unbearably beautiful. Hm. I bet you could do a lot of writing at the hotel desk if you get that night job. Here's hoping it's a hotel where very few people come ... just enough of them to keep the doors open.

"Ulysses" was made for hitting people over the head with. smile

My guess about you is that a writing class wouldn't do any damage. But I've never attended one except the English composition classes in high school, which were forced. Also, I once had a writer girlfriend who taught at the university level, so I'd sit in on parts of her classes while waiting for her to get done. Otherwise I have stayed away from all schools and colleges.

The note-taking ... Friends sometimes snicker about my habit of not only eavesdropping in public places but tearing off pieces of the placemat in a restaurant to write down what someone said.

it's almost time to dye my hair again, maybe... maybe blueblack this time. though if i'm going to, i promise that i'll get pictures taken with the red first.

i feel restless. like i want to start pacing. i have really not that much to be restless and pacing about, but still.. i feel very brittle for some reason. maybe i need a vacation -...

Sweet pix. I like how the first one shows where your neck itched ... the pinkish tracery of three fingernails.

Tidepools fascinate me, too. Not only the life in them, but the idea of water sweeping in and then out, and leaving varied creatures behind, preserved alive in small communities that seem much more interesting than the larger, more "dramatic" one.

Sing wherever you like. Hehe. I remember one time when I was living in UT I started belting out Poe's "Not a Virgin" at the top of my LUNGS next to a female friend of mine. She looked at me and sidled away, distancing herself from me. I got close to her and eventually got her to join me in singing it. Parking lot security came, which was fun, but we weren't being obscene, quite, so they couldn't do anything. Sing whatever you like: someone who sings in public is confident and happy.

went to my parents' house for dinner, for my birthday. got some birthday money, which helps the finances. and the big birthday present was that they told me that i don't have to pay them the money i owe them.. $1400 or so. not a bad present, all told. not being as much in debt is a good thing.

drank a bunch of wine last...

The phone rings.
"Hello?"
"Angela!"
"Oh, hi," I say to the man whose voice i cannot identify. But surely he knows me, because he uses my name so confidently. He continues speaking in a heavy drawl, so heavy that I think it must be fake.
"I'm calling on behalf of the Volunteer Firefighters of America, Angela. We just wanted to make sure that you've checked...

Happy Birthday Beautiful!

when is your set going up? God you are such a knock out, i can hardly wait!!! love
chirex:
You know, I do something like that for a living. I call businesses and try to get them to tell me all sorts of things about their company they oughtn't. Like revenue, and stuff. I don't sell stuff, though, anymore. But it sounds like the guy who called you was probably pretty good at his job, considering the way he got you not to hang up on him in the first 15 seconds.

Your posts are an illustration of why Suicide Girls is a Good Thing. Be well

so we are kind of flat broke, and it's really fucking stressful. we've spent most of the wedding money my parents gave us, and the rest of it will go to this month's rent. i've got to get a job post haste. it sucks to be getting ready to graduate, which should be a time to decompress, finish all of my schoolwork and finally relax...
