I brought my portfolio in to work today at Esther's request. Flipping through it again was torture. By now all I can see are the stupid mistakes and unecessary photos. Esther and Nicole said a few nice things, which is incredibly gratifying to hear from people as talented as them. Nicole praised my dance concert design from a couple of years ago, Esther liked my photoshop work from Bob's class, and I think Leah defended one of my designs from Judy's class.

Speaking of Leah, we've been getting along better. I still think she's kind of fake, but that's a quality a dresser needs. Also, it's reassuring to have someone from back home on my crew. I'm not getting along with Esther as well this year, mostly because the actors love her and I'm starting to resent it a bit.

Female actors are more difficult to dress than male actors. Actually, female actors over 26 years old are more difficult to dress than male actors. Most of them have gotten past the "I'm pretty, so acting is fun!!!" phase in their lives and really care about developing their characters. So it's easy to annoy them or mess up their performance by doing something wrong. They're also past the novelty of having a dresser and don't try to be especially nice to everyone because they're no longer trying to secure themselves a job for the next year. They know they're going to be cast, and they know you have to be there to help them, so they're not inclined to be friendly.
