Tell us about your first job!
So my first job was at At the Beach (a tanning salon) terrible I know! 😂 I was 15 when I started and I had to lie about my age. I worked there until I was probably 17 and it was TERRIBLE! My position there was a "bed technician" the job duties were: when a customer comes in, they tell you which tanning bed they want to go to and you turn it on for them. You wait 10-20 minutes for them to be done. Within that time....
You mop, do laundry, clean and listen to the average middle age house wife complain to you about 1,000,000 things you can't change.
After the 10-20 minutes and the tanner leaves you then grab a blue towel and cleaner.. You go into the room and if you're lucky you were so busy cleaning other beds that this one had time to cool off and you don't know what every crevasse of them smells like. AND Let me remind you that I'm from OKLAHOMA there are some gorgeous women here and there are some that don't know how to shower and came in on the hottest day of the year.
So sometimes if you let a tanning bed sit dirty for a long period of time you would come to find imprints of the persons body laid out perfectly in dry crusted on sweat! Yum!
The best part of all that came with that job was the fact that it wasn't just women that came to tan, men did too! So on a very rare occasion... You may walk into a room with a very old man still putting on his tan lotion before hopping into the bed.. BUTT... NAKED..
So in a nutshell... At the Beach is wonderful place to work if you love the crude, rude and smelly.... However it's an even worse first job!!!!
