I was in and out of KL many times years ago. I like it for the most part. I remember returning to the distributors office after lunch one day and heard some pop pop of gunshots, and then saw a man running with a policeman chasing him. The policeman caught him almost at the doorway of our building, which was near a major golf course. We went in the office, and on the way in I saw the policeman put a gun to the mans head and scream at him. I was told later that he was under arrest for drug dealing and the policeman was giving him a choice, tell us who your partner is or else, he must have told them.
The country is beautiful and garden like, just like your neighbor to the south Singapore. There are two other things I will remember about KL and one was this incredible Chinese restauarant that was huge, must have sat 500 or more, they had a dish of fat back pork in soy sauce that I have never seen anywhere else. The other was at the airport, the old airport they had a sort of cafeteria style KFC (although not really a KFC) for the passengers, and they used old military type of metal lunch trays, they had a hot and spicy chicken that would probably started a paper dish on fire that was very very good, and also served beer. I used to eat there every time before I flew back to Singapore.
