John Peel - RIP

This is an extremely sad day.

The man did more for the British Music scene. A supreme DJ. A GOD. NO one in this world comes near him. He had vision, foresight, he was adventurous. He became to mean an awful lot to so many people. He crossed generations. He was like the coolest Dad in the world.

I send my sympathy to his family.

me too, i don't often get bothered by those kind of things but this one took the wind out of my sails.
I've made a peel-esque playlist and am going to enjoy that and think of all the great bands that am into down to that one man.

I sent out an email to my mates and a couple of colleagues when I heard the news. The guy in question had never heard of John Peel (even though he's lived here for 8 years. Go figure) and he's an extreme left wing activist so he was giving it all the "how can people be upset about the death of a DJ when there's war happening in the world?" etc etc, and basically called me a sad bastard for being upset about it. What a cock mad I had to put on my headphones in the end and ignore him before I said something I'd regret. Just because the world is a shithole it doesn't mean we're not allowed to mourn for our heroes
