I fucking hate that bull shit. Gender roles my ass. You gals just don't wanna get hurt. Oh and by the way I'm not aiming this directly at anyone but it hurts when you give lame excuses to get out of dates

I got really really plastered tonight/this morning. Speaking of which…
And you know what? I've had guys tell me that shit. So it's not lame excuses, it's the facts. There ARE girls out there that will ask guys out, I myself being one of those types, but it DOES have to do with society, and saying that it's bullshit IS bullshit. I did a survey on this in high school of as many high school guys and gals as I could, and the major question was "What gender should be doing the asking out and why?"
The most popular answers from girls? "Guys should because that's the way it's always been done" and "Guys should because I don't want to seem too aggressive." The tomboys were the ones that said they would ask a guy out. And sure, you might say that guys like tomboys, but a lot of them don't. Many responded to the survey saying, "Guys should because that's their role" and "Guys should because if a girl asks me out, I feel insecure."
It's just the way the cookie crumbles.
