Soooo I found an apartment here! It's a 1-bed, 1-bath, so nothing particularly special, but they've been remodeled inside and I get a ton of discounts because of where I work. I'm excited! biggrin Not really just for the apartment, but the fact that it's something new in my life...something to look forward to. It's closer to a lot of my friends, closer to work, closer...

Sooo rough nights the past few nights...and the insomnia is back. I've slept the absolute minimum lately because I can't sleep. My brain just keeps saying a big FUCK YOU to the rest of my body that is exhausted. Things with the new person aren't really working out. She's a great chick, but it's one of those things where we're better friends than anything else....

Sooo I'm in Texas for the weekend, and really, I probably should've just stayed home. We were supposed to stay at a resort by a lake near Houston, but it was obviously not an option this weekend. So instead we flew in to Austin where my mom lives, and I'm bored. Even better, I'm here two more days...I love my family and all, but this...

I haven't written a blog in, like, a month, so I'm due. It's been an interesting month. My lease is up at the end of October so I've got to find another apartment or place to live. My roommate might be getting a job in CA, other than that I probably wouldn't move. I love the location and he's never here, so I get a...

New people are awesome. I've got one of those too, and it's the best love

Sorry about your work situation. When I used to work for Bank One it was the same bullshit. They like to keep the people who work hard and show up everyday in the lower pee-on positions. It means more grunt work gets done. They would only promote the people who had their noses buried up management's ass. I hate corporate jobs.

You should move out to the east valley. I'll be out in Mesa starting October 1st!

Yeah, I don't even know if the brain is conscious of what it shows us.

I need a football package, at least you go out to watch games tongue

If it makes you happy, who am I to stop you right wink

Well, happy belated birthday to me!! I didn't really do a whole lot though. I think I just don't feel like the last year was a good one. I didn't accomplish a whole lot, and managed to have the best thing that happened to me in a long time get fucked up unbelievably. So with that in mind, for whatever reason I couldn't get passed...

So it's been five years today since I lost my dad...

It's funny...well...not funny really...but yah just odd how no matter what's going on in my life, that this completely puts everything into perspective.

Did I just get out of a shitty relationship? Yah.
Do I just absolutely hate my job? Yah.
Do I spend most of my nights sitting at home drinking? Yah.

Regardless,...

I am so completely burned out on my job its almost scary. I feel like I'm going to lose it and screw something up soon if I can't find something else to do. I didn't get a degree in History to work at a bank forever. I need to find something else to do and soon! Any ideas?
inara:
Uug. I worked for Bank One for a while. It sucked big balls. Too bad you're not a bartender, I think we're about to clean house at my place and bring in all new people.

You have a degree in history??? That's hot. No seriously. HOT. love
hugzombie:
Yeah, I disappeared for a little bit. I love moving, but packing is definitely not my favorite park. Unpacking is almost my favorite part though. It's like I get a clean slate with a new place. Things can look and be different, I don't know.

So the last week was interesting...I heard that my ex and her new boy-toy didn't work out too well, so I derive some sort of sick pleasure from that. Though considering the circumstances, maybe it's somewhat of a vindictive pleasure...

Work was busy, but that's going to be the case for the next month or so. It's funny...I work the "late" shift from 1030-700, but...

Probably better you didn't make it. I ended up playing, and it was so ridiculously awful. I started going all in every hand just to get out. I saw so many idiots who didn't have a single clue how to play suck out on so many hands. So many bad beats. It was painful. It wasn't even fun.

I can't sleep....I just can't....

The heart hurts...and won't stop hurting...

I just can't move on for some reason, it doesn't make sense but I can't.

I know the feeling. It took me a long time to really be functional again after my last big break up, and it never completely goes away. You just sort of learn to live with it until you find someone else to focus your attention on. But it definitely sucks.

Even a couple years later, I found myself the other day picking old scabs for no reason and I looked her up on Google. Haven't talked to her or even really thought about her in over a year and a half. Turns out she ended up with the guy she swore was just a friend (swearing that because I asked if something was going on between them... yeah), and they're engaged and moving to England. She just immediately jumped into it with this guys after more than 5 years with me. Threw me for a serious loop. But by the end of the day I was over it, and my only real concern became "Why the hell did that bother me so much?"

Anyways, good luck man. I know it's rough. I've been there. I recommend turning that self-destructive energy toward something a little more constructive, though- like working out. It hurts, so it fills the urge, but once you're becoming functional again you'll notice you actually did yourself a favor.

This weekend was pretty dull and crappy to begin with, but the rest of today just took the cake. So my ex was out and about today, house shopping--that's an entirely different story--and wanted to stop by. As I had been sitting here day-drinking as well as some other extracurriculars, inexplicably I said sure. Despite everything that has happened I still can't help but love...
