Some of my mom's advice on beer is to never drink anything associated with fish, with the exception of Bass. Every other one she's had she's hated. And she the type to go to beer tastings. Just sayin'.
paisley:
What the fuck is this country's deal with drinking age? I need to get my snob on but fast, and I can't because I can't buy my own fucking beer. Damn the government. Damn them to...someplace hot and smelly. Like Rush Limbaugh's asscrack.

I don't care how cheesy the song is, I still like "Ariel" by October Project. Chamber Goth FTW.

Things What Should Be Purchased Legally Tomorrow:
- Songs of Faith and Devotion and maybe A Broken Frame reissues
- The Little Mermaid on DVD
- Not the new Killers CD (how does the single suck so bad?)
- X-Men: Trilogy. Maybe. I'm weak, and don't own...

So I don't know if you've seen Weird Al's video for "White 'N' Nerdy", but he holds up an edition of Monty Python and the Holy Grail in it. I was watching it on my computer with some friends, and I had to pause the movie and point to it on my bookshelf (along with the book by Stephen Hawking right above it and several other things around my area that he mentions in the song).

That's all.

I went shopping for food and pretty things for my apartment today. I got some glasses from Crate and Barrel. I'm cool. STFU. I also got a frame for my Beauty and the Beast cel (shut up, I love that movie), and the new Scissor Sisters CD (buying music? wtf.). It's good. Some songs strike me as something Elton John might have sung in his...

i just saw an anime with a very Beaty and the Beast storyline, but it was waaaay better than Beauty and the Beast. It's called Howl's Moving Castle. It's awesome. It's so awesome i bought it. And i don't buy DVDs.

i DO buy music tho. i buy CDs like a fiend. It's compulsive and addictive. I can't go into a store that has CDs without buying at least one. And i don't even feel bad about it. So nya!

I had amazing roommates last year, and even though we lived in a quad we never fought. But one went abroad this semester; she was replaced by my cool-but-kinda-boring roommmate. The frosh entered the picture when a second previous roommate's parents decided that, since they live in Boston, her punishment for losing her free ride would be to commute from home. The office of housing put this demonchild in her place, and for that I will hate them eternally.

I have spent a fair amount of my day and even more of my evening wresting with this damn Debian box, trying to set up the Linux file server for my apartment. Will it be worth it, in the end? I cannot say for sure. But I'll be proud of myself, albeit in an exceedingly nerdy way.
I would go on and on about it,...

TUX RACER!!! love

I'm writing a comparison of beauty as portrayed by Petrarch's Italian love sonnets and Michelangelo's ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, and how the forms that they each chose affected how the beauty is portrayed and interpreted. *snooze*
paisley:
Well that's because you've never had a sexual favor from me.

That being said, I've already written 942 words, and I haven't done an introduction or conclusion yet, so it wouldn't be as difficult if someone wanted to come along and finish it. But it'd probably be better for me in the long run to finish it myself and pass off some of that archaeology busy work I've got due soon. CRAP, that's all it is.

So I'm off to see the Patriots game tonight with my friend Joe. Not before popping in on a BBQ hosted by my friend Clint, though.

A pleasant Sunday indeed!

Unemployment is fun, but I wish I had the money to sustain the lifestyle.

Joanna Newsom is coming to the Museum of Fine Arts for college night, yeah, I'm pumped. Badly Drawn Boy will be at the Paradise on the 10th, the Scissor Sisters are at the Orpheum on the 22nd, and then in November there's the Decemberists on the 4th, Ani DiFranco on the 10th, Bob Dylan on the 11th (&12th, but my parents gave me tickets for my birthday on the 11th), AND December 1st My Morning Jacket comes to rock my world. Yay, music!

I am back from Florida. Disney World was fun.

Tired. Sleep now. More later?

See Mutual Appreciation immediately. It's playing at the Brattle in Harvard Sq. all week. YOU HAVE NO EXCUSE. DO IT.
paisley:
But.....but......but..........................

yes sir.
paisley:
I did it. I saw it. It was definitely worth the effort to get there. Plus, Cambridge on a Saturday night is jsut a fun sight to see.

Attention.

Xmortis (http://www.xmortis.com) tonight at TT the Bear's in Central Sq., Cambridge. 18+, $10; $5 before 10:30.

I will be there. Everyone on this site in the area should be too. Sid was there last time, and will probably make a return.
Is that an incentive? Only you can decide. And prevent forest fires.

In other news, support the Brattle Theater in Harvard Sq. and...

So I might be at the Brattle tonight, but last night I did not go because I was instead offered a chance to watch "Stick It" while knitting with some friends, and let me tell you, if you have not seen that fine piece of gymnastics-centered teen fluff, you have not lived. (It was awful.)
paisley:
I went to the 5:00, thinking I would get back in time to do all my schoolwork, which I did not end up doing, despite having time, because I am lazy.

Well, I've moved. As of last Thursday, I am now living further into Somerville, up by Davis Sq. I must say, this new place is AWESOME. Two floors, 4 bedrooms, a dining room, a living room, TWO porches, big kitchen, walking distance to Davis T station... it's hot. I need people to visit more. We'd have more parties, but we live above the landlords, which...

Ooh, Little Miss Sunshine was excellent. I was so happy Steve Carrell had a deep character for once.
Congrats on the new place, it sounds pretty sweet.

My bike was GLORIOUS; my bike lock was a big pain. I've never had a U-lock to deal with before, so that was a new world of annoyance. Plus I didn't have a good bag for biking, so it kept swinging around in front of me. But I bought a backpack and got used to the lock, so all is good. Well, not all, but when I eventually got to sleep, it helped, so at least some is good.

Don't worry, I hate vegans. Seriously, never met one I liked.

As for tomorrow, Gothy-goth, eh? Maybe I'll do that after the movie. I do enjoy me some crazy fashions and dark attitudes.

Re: Patrons, I'm looking for someone who'll give me money to look fabulous but not come on to me. I know, I don't think it'll happen either.
