So the other day, Friday, I went down to New Haven to see Spring Heeled Jack play a reunion show at Toad's Place. It was awesome! The openers- Mellow Bravo, the Organ Beats, and Tip the Van- were pretty mediocre. But SHJ killed, so it was ok. Coolie Ranx (Toasters, Pilfers) sang the first song with them, and they went from there playing an awesome set. So glad I drove down.
Also, it was great hanging out with all the folks I met at the Hometown Throwdown this past year. It was perhaps even MORE fun hanging out with them than it was going to the show. I love those kids.
And we went to a cigar bar, the Owl Shop. Check this shit:
