Been a while!
So, Chicago was awesome. Riot Fest kicked so much ass. I regret not catching the Cock Sparrer/NOFX show, but such is life. I got to see Screeching Weasel, which is a highlight of my life. They played a lot from My Brain Hurts, which was great. I wish they had broken out "Peter Brady" from Anthem for a New Tomorrow, but ah well. Great, great show regardless. And Alkaline Trio played a pretty awesome set.
Other bands I saw:
The Dead Milkmen. Really fun! There were some songs I wish they'd played "Takin' Retards to the Zoo," "Instant Club Hit (You'll Dance to Anything)," but overall, really great. It was funny when Rodney fucked up the lyrics to "Stuart."
Murder City Devils! Fuck yeah. They ripped it up. Their keyboardist was chain smoking the whole time, which amused us.
Also, I got a burger from Kuma's Corner and had a good time hanging out with my cousin who lives in Chicago. Also, met some kids I know online from the Bosstones message board. Awesome weekend all around!!
Coming up, tonight Teenage Bottlerocket, Banner Pilot, and the Cobra Skulls are playing. STOKED. Tomorrow, Off With Their Heads! And then Tuesday, Bishop Allen. One of these things is not like the others.
Finally, if you're not listening to the new Nothington album, Roads, Bridges & Ruins, you're missing one of the top 10 albums of the year. Fix that.
