I saw the Pilfers tonight. Holy goddamned shit, that was an amazing show. They played a wicked long (nearly 2 hour?) set, and I skanked pretty much the whole time. So good. I love going to shows.

I don't know how I was previously unaware of DownloadPunk.com, but I'm glad to have found it. DRM-free, 192kbps punk MP3s for purchase. Looks like artists get their dues, and I get better stuff than the shite on iTunes. I grabbed Ben Weasel's solo album, and it was simple and painless. AND the album is excellent to boot! Awesome!

I watched American Hardcore tonight. I really enjoyed it. A lot of awesome music in it- Black Flag, Circle Jerks, SSDecontrol, Negative FX, early Bad Brains, etc. I'd recommend giving it a view if you're at all interested in the early hardcore scene.

Lemuria's debut LP was recently released on Asian Man Records. It is absolutely delightful. Seriously. Go listen to it now.

Also, the latest from The Ergs (Upstairs/Downstairs) is super-awesome if you like somewhat nerdy pop-punk. They have a song called "2nd Foundation" about the Foundation series by Isaac Asimov. Come on! That's awesome. And they name-check the Del Fuegos in the song "Boston,...
