Finally settled in Beijing. I still have a hard time believing that I'm back, but I'm happy and excited to be here again. It's been long overdue coming back here. I called up some old coworkers of mine and we had one of those dinners that last from 7pm - 4am where we really had two meals and a whole lot of beer. Total for some 12 people came out to be like a slightly over $150. Not bad for a long night of kicking it I'd say.
Forgot how much stuff I left here, which thankfully I packed light and will be bringing most of it back. I know I just got here but I'm kind of at the stage where I know I'll have to leave in the near future and already I don't want to. Everything here is so simple for me...well maybe not the language...my vocabulary isn't that great, but lifestyle is pretty to the point - work hard, play hard, and eat well.
I'll post a little more up here but that's just an appetizer for whatever I'll post later. I do want to make a post specifically about the CCTV tower which I'm sure no one's ever really heard much about. I got a few updates on that. I also get the feeling the mere mentioning of that company in my blog, might make this post subject for filtration and thereby thinking 1 of 2 things can happen. 1) my blog will get filtered and not be posted, so if you see this still, then wo0t or 2) they will ban suicide girls in Beijing. I hope it's neither, but there aren't any suicide girls in Beijing, wtf is up with that? But I digress...I really hope it's neither because I feel like this is a story worth telling.
If you're wondering why anything might be filtered here, keep in mind it's China. I can't log onto netflix because they say they detected my IP in a country where their licensees aren't supported and thereby I can't use there services here. I heard facebook has been a recently banned website, and youtube...well youtube hasn't been allowed here in a while now. Strangely they do allow for wiki, but filter certain key phrases....take for example "tibet'"
But on a lighter note after that healthy dose of heavy, I'm in beijing trick....LMAO
