I got my early X-Mas present. A beautiful baby boy. Halk walker hound, (just like Cupid), and half weimaraner. He's black except for a little white stripe going down his chest and he's only nine weeks old. The problem is Cupid's reaction. The whole thought on getting a new puppy was that Cupid would have a playmate and we wouldn't have to worry about him attempting to jump the fence so much to visit neighborhood dogs. Here's how it went ...

We bring the box o' puppy in and 'Pid is thinking, "Huh, new toy." Then the toy moves. He jumps back about four feet and starts to freak out. I mean he's SCARED. I knew he was a little wimp, but this thing is maybe a tenth of his size. So we leave the room to see what will happen. When we leave Crow, (yep, that's what we named him), starts to whine and Cupid get's concerned and checks it out. Once the pup stops whining he starts to walk away ... and then the whining starts again ... and the cycle starts. It was amazing how quickly Cupid express the annoyance I've ony seen in the eyes of parents. So then we let them play on the floor. Well, we thought that was what was going to happen. It was a lot of 'Pid trying to figure out is he should sniff or bite. He never bit. He did, however, leave us a gift this morning. Several in fact. The jealousy has begun ... and the marking of territory. Now foolishly I thought that with Cupid fixed this wouldn't happen. Oh no, he marked not one, not two, but eight spots throughout the house. So, uh, does anyone have any suggestions about what we can do regarding pee stains on hardwood? Or how to get him to stop?
