i'm not dead, i've just mostly lost interest. i got a new tattoo last sunday, and it was the most painful experience of my life. i sat for five hours. body went into shock after three. we kept stopping and then finally i just told him to finish the fucking thing. it was pretty horrible. here's a picture:



so, that makes number eleven. oh, and the inspiration came from plath's "tulips." i plucked three lines from it, and they are as follows: "i am nobody; i have nothing to do with explosions." / "and i have no face, i have wanted to efface myself." / "and i am aware of my heart: it opens and closes." people keep telling me this is an "emo" tattoo, but the fucking thing IS covering some scars i inflicted the night i tried to kill myself, so i guess that's the way it is. anyway, the only thing that was stencilled on this bad boy was the text. then he used some sharpie to draw a couple of the leaves and the outlines of the tulips directly on me, but for the most part, it was free-handed. it would be an understatement to say i'm impressed. for those of you who live in or near miami, my artist's name is ryan and he works at phat joe's on bird and 84th.

oh, and i'm moving to new jersey in three weeks.
