After a long day of being gigantic and gold, Buddha takes a load off in a temple. Seriously though, this place was gorgeous and very spiritual.
"Hey, i'm Golden Buddha. Ya wanna' come back to my place for some drinks and "meditation"?"
Buddha gets a much needed face lift and tummy tuck compliments of Thai guys and scaffolding.
The Canals of Bangkok. It was once known as the "Venice of Asia" for it's large number of canals and water ways. Nowadays, you can take boat tours and see how the poor live. Quite eye opening.

The Royal Palace of Bangkok is friggin enormous, friggin beautiful and friggin gold-covered.
The guys above are temporary monks. For about $40 you can become one too!
Monkey and me. Check out my long rock star hair! Did you know that monkeys in Thailand have to go to Monkey School for three years to learn how to properly harvest coconuts? A good monkey can get between 300 and 400 a day!
This guy looks a lot like Jim Belushi i think. He's one of the peepz i went down there with and he got really fucking drunk, stoned and sun-burned that day.
This is the sunset on Patong Beach on Phuket Island. It's quite beautiful there.

This is Fon, my Thai girlfriend. Yeah, yeah, yeah, i know; they're all scammers there. But still, it was fun while it lasted. She keeps on phoning my friend in Bangkok asking about me, when all she has to do is email me...weird.

This cool ass thing is only 45 minutes from my apartment. It's an old fortress that now has a modern city buitl around and inside it. I think it was mostly destroyed in the Korean War and Japanese occupation before that, but recently rebuilt. You'll find most stuff of any historical significance in Korea has been sacked, burned, destroyed or invaded at one point or another in time. Quite sad reall.

I'm supposed to transition to the Guard around the end of the year, but that's contigent on a deal I'm trying to work out with UNC regarding tuition rates. The plan is to study International Relations and get a cush job at an Embassy in Europe (pref. Greece). Ah, the dreams.
I've heard of incidents of the sort you've described--sometimes it was GIs being retarded, and sometimes it was the locals who instigated. It just goes to show you that stupid is a international trait.
