Ok, so i'm back in Korea now....ugh.

So, sinse my last update i did ride an elephant which was way rad (they're BIG) and i did ride the jet ski. The jet ski was awesome as i got some pretty sweet jumps of about 10-15 feet because of the big waves. BUT, my legs have never been so sore in my ENTIRE life They still hurt 4 days later and walking around Bangkok barely able to go down stairs is problematic but i managed.

Bangkok was pretty freaking sweet. I got some really cool souvenirs which will eventually be on their home as presents and saw the most amazing temples. Huge gold covered temples with amazing architecture and cool scary guard guy thingies were simply marvelous. I saw a 200 foot reclining Buddha statue and even lit insense and did osme praying there as well as do other things for luck and stuff like that (you pay for these little coins and put one in each of about 60 pots as you walk along the reclining buddha for luck....apparently Thais do everything for luck.)

I took a canal tour on a Banana boat and saw seom really interesting and sad things. Parts of Bangkok can't even be recognized as part of the city and other parts are gorgeous. Traveling the canals you can really see the contrasting lives of the rich and the poor. Just across the canals from the gold covered Buddha temples are literal shacks built on stilts where some pretty fucking poor people live--people that have to fish in the dirty polluted water for dinner. People with hardly any money at all. People who give the rest of their spare money to the Buddhist monks and temples for "good luck" when it could help make their lives better. That's part of the contrasting life in Thailand. IT's so amazing and beautiful, but majorly screwed up at the same time.

In other news, i now have a "Thai girlfriend" if I want to pursue it. I'm quite leary of the whole matter as i know all about the overseas boyfriend scams they pull down there. On the other hand, she seems really nice and i was quite sad to part company with her. She actually cried a bit which surprised me and i'd like to think they were genuine but i'm pretty sure i'm not that overpoweringly charming to elicit such a response either. I got a bit emotional on the cab ride back--i blame it on the cheesey ass love songs the cabbie seemed to love so well. Still, it was nice to feel like someone cared about me for a bit (fake or not). My friend warned me about it as he's as familiar with life in Thailand as any farang--foreigner--could be. I suppose i'll proceed with extreme caution. Let her make the first email back here or whatever. Anyways peepz, it's late and i gotta go teach kids again tomorrow frown Peace and chicken grease.
