Well here i am in the most spectacular land on the planet. Niether words, nor pictures, nor videos or film can accurately portray the awe i am in and the breathtaking scenery experienced every waking minute of the day here. Right now as i look out from the hostel lobby at the compure, i can see the clearest, bluest lake water ever combined with land to make and the backdrop to that is majestic rolling green mountains and soft blue skies.
Being here truly reminds me of all the good that i have going for me at the moment. Most people will never get to see wonders such as i've witnessed and will witness tomorrow and in the upcoming week, yet i've this is my second go around. I am truly thankful for that.
Yesterday i went to and hiked up for a full day the Franz Josef Glacier. It's the fastest moving glacier in the world and also one of the few that empties into a temperate rain forest. Climbing it was a lot like climbing the world's largest ice castle and navigating crevasses and ice holes is awe inspiring in both beauty and adventure. It was cold as hell, but it was also such a sense of accompolishment to see how far we'd managed to get in our tour. Truly tops stuff!
Over the next few days i shall witness fjorlands and do the second highest bungee jump in the world! Can it get any better than that?
Also, the people i've been meeting have just been absolutely fantastic! For the most part the bus is filled with UK folk and i've been getting along grandly with them all. Apparently i've discovered that my and the Brits humor are on par with one another and that i'd get along famously in London which is a good thing to know i suppose. One guy i met is a music producer who's doing an around the world travel and has met all kinds of stars and famous peepz...but really, he's just and awesome bloke. Also, i met a girl down here who went to Slippery Rock...how wild is that? Only an hour from where i live...small world eh? If you notice my journal entry having weird vernacular....it's the Brits influence wearing off on me hehe.
