so i get home from work at around 11 tonight, my parents' car is back in the driveway (duh, i knew they'd be home) but the truck, which they had left, is gone. so i head inside to say hello and my mom is asleep in bed. i ask my brother where my dad is and basically this is what he says:

"he's staying in a hotel because they were fighting again, like all the way home and now Mudge [our older dog, he's about 11 years old now] is avoiding her because of the fighting and he might die because of the stress [?! don't say things to my stupid and impressionable brother in moments of extreme emotion or he will think you are serious despite being almost 17] and also some lady called who might be dad's sister."

i'm not terribly surprised that they were fighting on the way home. god i hate drama. i don't understand people in unhappy relationships. i still figure my dad is off his meds. plus being all obsessed with finding his birth family (hence the possible sister). honestly i really don't care about the potential new family members. that woman might turn out to be kickass but honestly i just don't care. i'm not interested in meeting new people, thanks. i have a tough enough time maintaining older relationships. and thus the explanation why i'm not too keen on having exchanges with people who leave me comments here. i appreciate it and it's nice to find people who have common interests, but i know you only care because i put up a cute (albeit stretched) photo.

i'm not into classic actresses. i just think Mae West was a pretty damn cool woman for that era.

today i received a mysterious envelope in the mail. it was unsealed (probably because of the horrible ongoing rainy weather - no one actually opened it) and it was an Open Jugular Cheesecake envelope with an Animal stamp. pretty cool but the return address did not have a name and was not familiar. inside was a single Lenore fishy sticker. i can only fathom that i received it because i pre-ordered the Lenore PVC set a couple weeks ago. regardless, the sticker is going on my car tomorrow morning. i have the t shirt with the same print on it, and it's one of my favorite Lenore quotes.

my mommy brought me a black sweatshirt (which does not appear to be ridiculously huge like my old sweatshirt) with a Jolly Roger print and crossbones down the sleeves. it's from Blackbeard's Tattoo Parlor, in North Carolina i assume. now i feel like i should go down and get a tattoo there. whatever i think that's so sweet that she found something that i REALLY like. other relatives may have had a hand in it. they're all fairly cool about my piercings and tattoos (i don't even have many but i'm still the most "modified" one in the family). it's nice to think that they may actually have some idea of what i'm into, so that further Christmases in which i receive nothing but stinky bath salts and lotions will be avoided. yuck.

tonight the guy i was closing with said that he thinks i should be getting a raise and a set of store keys pretty soon, though he doesn't know the manager's plans. i figured it was likely but it was nice to hear it from someone. he is very sweet and turns out to be friends with a good friend of mine (i knew he was familiar). i really like all of my co-workers, though. great bunch of guys. and according to the assistant manager, the manager is a closet emo kid/guy. he listens to Johnny Cash and the Mars Volta in the store but his friends say that when he goes home it's allllll emo. and he gets really annoyed if you mention it to him. i won't test it, i'm still very new. tongue he is a prety cool guy anyway, though. even though i was late a couple times he hasn't written me up (probably because he knows i am a good employee) and when i had to park in a 2 hour zone, he told me i probably wouldn't get a ticket because he parks there every day and if i did then he would pay it. awww.
