I'm working on Mardi Gras this year - crowd control (no, I'm not a butch security guard! I'm in charge of keeping the crowd happy and chirpy in the 4 hour wait before the parade starts - hell fun but hell tiring) so I'll be down in Sydney that weekend. Also on the hunt for a fun afterparty to go to after the parade as the main one wasn't brilliant last year so my best friend (a Sydney-sider) and I are looking for something different. Do you want to meet up at some stage that weekend? I like putting faces and vibes and people to names...

Oh, and if you hear of a cool afterparty for the parade, let me know! smile

It's my release in life. It gives me the confidence I never knew I had. There's no better feeling then when you get it right, and it usually does when I follow my instincts with it. Makes you feel like you can do anything within that element.

Privilege via giving back - you mean through comment? I would have loved to comment in the journal I read, but I think the person might have been upset if he realized I knew what he was talking about - oh well, I still feel lucky and guilty all in one - nice contrast to it.

Watched "Dark Days" today. Great doco! I'll admit what attracted me to it straight up was the fact that DJ Shadow did the score. I've always been a big admirer of his work and his stuff is just so visual. To me it was just aching to be used on a soundtrack. The doco is just amazing on every level. What adds to it more...
