body shaming and who's always open season

Whats the most common type to be held to such high standards and is shunned when they don't meet it? Women have always had it the hardest for generations. At least here in America. I can't speak for any other culture but I'm sure they follow similar lines around the world. Being overweight is hard on anyone, especially going through childhood (kids are assholes) but into adulthood the thinking seems to shift. If it's a man that's overweight it's practically normalized now (give or take of course) we even have the "dad bod" trending. That doesn't seem to apply to adult women though? Though we have made great progress, namily thanks to the women's movement and today thanks to sites and groups like SG and others who refuse to cater to the singular picture of what is considered beautiful and sexy. Focusing on what should be considered the most important aspect of any person, character. But the playing field is still not even. And maybe it never will be. Because simply, humanity sucks as a whole. But there is still one type that gets shamed relentlessly. Skinny men. I can't try to relate to the pressure women feel in regards to the pressure they feel to live up to societies standards of beauty but on the other side, where men are portrayed to be and appear Superior in size and strength and one falls short of it, it's open season anywhere and everywhere. My story, I've expirenced this since childhood from my parents, mainly my father, from siblings, friends, girlfriends, co-workers and even complete strangers. Continuously undermined and undervalued. At this point in my life in over it. My self-esteem is sufficient to the point where it's non-existent. It is what it is and I never really considered myself attractive and I'm fine with that. But every single person has their limits. And I've been pushed beyond my means countless times by now. Countless fights for being considered an easy target. To be overweight as a man, almost no thing anymore. Practically expected. To be underweight on the other hand, there's a weakness about us. And we seem to be almost everyone's favorite target. Think of it just like fat shaming just from the opposite direction. In an era where most want to lose weight, everyone just thinks it's as simple as eat more! It's never really considered that just maybe, their wiring isnt right? Could there be something going wrong in their mental health? The outside often reflects the inside. but life's a bitch and everything moves on. You just never really hear from our side of things. So I just felt like throwing it out there. Be well
