Sadly I am back from Taiwan. It's been a couple of days since I got off the plane but I haven't been able to get a good night's sleep yet. I had a wonderful time. I went for a friend's wedding and several of the guests from the US went on a four day tour of the Northern part of the country. We were in a bus winding through amazing mountain passes and stopping from time to time to eat wonderful food and take pictures at scenic lookouts.
My favorite place on the tour was Taroko Gorge. This is a winding channel cut through marble and so steep and narrow you can barely see the sky at some points.
The wedding was also amazing. I've never seen so much food. The bride wore four different wedding dresses during the day. We drank vast quantities of whiskey. In short paradise!
It is kind of a let down being back and having to catch up at work and nothing tastes very good (although I had some catfish at the Delta last night that made me pretty happy) so I think I have to start saving my money so I can go back soon!
