part ii of doc's birthday story:

The Dawn of the aerospace age wore a man's shoes and slacks onstage. She wore a white shirt, suspenders and a bow tie. Burgundy. The tie and suspenders were a deep burgundy.

I wore the back of the horse.

"How indoor plumbing works is this," she said. "The pipes dig down, down, deep down to the freshwater ocean at...

doc's birthday is coming up. i do so love my girl.

a random search for images on google inspired a birthday story.

the dawn of the aerospace age
by jfante

as the rest of us waited in back, pulling at our laces, and thinking about our next meal, she walked confidently out onto the stage. applause flooded the areas behind the curtains, hurting our ears....

today's a day off. went to the dog park with doc and her pups, daisy and boston. daisy stalked boston, and did her usual thing. boston, for some incomprehensible reason, jumped into a temporary orange plastic fence and cut his nose open. and on a day when he already had a vet visit planned.

daisy, too. both have expensive medical situations to deal with. a...

Yeah it is about time I wrote! Actually, my band (The Amityville Horror) was going to cover angelfuck but decided to go with Hybrid Moments instead. The candy bar was a baby ruth. It sat in my freezer until we broke up. Then I said, "fuck her" and I ate it.

Ah, pinball.

And toilet humor.

What could be better?

Finished a story today. Pretty happy with it. Doc has it now. She's my best editor. Can't write without her.

pinball=good.
pinball 1973=hard to find murakami book.

my favorite pinball games are: ST: TNG; twilight zone

our bathroom floor is heated too! well, there is a heating vent that blows out across the tiles. it is soooooooo awesome, b/c, of course, you think it is going to be bone cold, but it is instead like a fancy spa or a rich persons house. now, if only i had two shower nozzles.

hardluck5413:
Man a heated floor? That would rock. A heat toilet seat would be equally as cool. That way you don't get the chills when you take the Browns to the Super Bowl.

Bet on Came Home in the Breeders Cup Classic. Longshot did it, though.

Hadn't really spent any time on the race. Just jumped when someone said, "Wanna bet?" Easily swayed to compulsive behavior, me. I'd bet on a Pinewood Derby, given the chance.

Speaking of: I won Best Customizing when I was a Cub Scout. Not too shabby, eh?
hardluck5413:
I always wanted to be a weeblo but I only made it to Tiger Cubs

Those I miss, one by one.

Eli. Iowa City. We had japanese classes together. Long-time Iowa City native, introduced me to all the old guard. His mom was a graphic designer, and invented a gift product called Karma Cubes (available at earring places in malls). His friends would get together, watch college basketball and play Axis and Allies. We wiled away the nights playing pinball...

My last journal entry was responsible for two deaths. Oy!

Small Beer Press! www.lcrw.net! Just finished "The Mount", a surreal allegory on slavery. Kind of sci-fi, but a lot more fi than sci. Reminds me of early stuff by bradbury or h beam piper.

People I miss: Eli, Thad, Maggie, Jess, Hans, Andy, Toddler, Raggy, Dandan, Miss Chris, Candy, Brooke, Ron, John, Glenn, Steve, Janelle,...

did you have a 'turned 29 break-down too'?

from the cut of your jib, it is obvious you've spun Necroticism: Descanting the Insalubrious a few times. eww, i feel like a high school kid who lives in his parents basement after writing that outgrageous carcass album title.
hardluck5413:
good alcohol for a good cause. I just took a swig of Mad Dog 20/20 while I put your name on my friend's list.

Cheers!!
