anniversary with doc. she bought me a copy of "medical curiosities: adapted from anomilies and curiosities of medicne", by george gould and walter pyle. they have a wonderful section on people born with tails.

my doc loves me. we're off to dinner soon.

when said graphic artist spoke on a panel in SF...maybe he was drunk...but it was just a bunch of glib answers from a man whose book covers can be quite exceptional (like the wind-up bird chronicle). maybe i need to give him a second chance...but his novel didn't help things any. instead of talking about graphics and cool stuff, the topics would lean towards what kind of underwear people were wearing or something equally time-wasting. he did do great work on the chris wares book.

walked up to the pet store for cat food. passed an audio place with a banner made of blank cd's. the sun hit the banner as i walked under it, and reflected onto the sidewalk like a little swarm of bugs skimming the ground. they jerked and swayed when the wind kicked the banner about.
