walked up to the pet store for cat food. passed an audio place with a banner made of blank cd's. the sun hit the banner as i walked under it, and reflected onto the sidewalk like a little swarm of bugs skimming the ground. they jerked and swayed when the wind kicked the banner about.
doc and i drove out to a church in bellevue to watch my sister in law perform. first, she played with a solo voice. the woman was unusually tall, and thin. her arms went past her knees. she'd had surgery as a child, i heard someone say, and it threw her out of proportion.
the second pice was a quartet she'd written for clarinet, flute, cello and viola. four movements. gorgeous. the cellist was a seattle public radio personality. the flute and clarinet belonged to a married couple.
doc just left. i miss her already.
