So i have been slacking a little bit with my on going quest to become a DJ, but this week i am making decissions that are gonna get me on the right track.
I spent tuesday or monday (i forget which) at my friend rob's usuing his awesome sound system and digital decks to do some mixing and generally muck around with some tracks. It was great because since he got the decks we have only really spent a couple of hours using them together, but we spent about 9 hours taking turns to mix and i feel i really made some progress. I have been downloading a lot of tracks, and trying to go through all my songs and pick out the ones i wanna mix, and making some play lists. Still always on the look out for new artists or songs or remixes though of corse so if anyone has any suggestions, i am all ears!
Anyway, i decided last night to sit down and do an hour long set, just trying to mix some songs and see how it went. Unfortunately i dont have digital decks yet, and as such i cant run a second channel through my headphones so tbh the mixing is not a clean as it could be. Little annoying mistakes that i would have noticed had i been able to preview the track as i mix it, or little bits i could have improved but still.
Anyway it turned into an hour and a half and i have put it on RapidShare, so if anyone wants to listen to it... Here Is My Mix
There are some good tracks on there, and the last track is also used somewhere near the beginning of the set but i was enjoying myself, and tbh Alex Metric is god so STFU :p !! There are a couple of poor mixes, and i know it but there are a few i am pretty happy about.
Anyway, any feed back would be massively massively appreciated. Im very new to this, but please give any constructive criticism you can on how i can improve.
