I had my contract terminated (I love euphimisms for being fired that agencies use) at work last Thursday, which is mixed news. On one hand, it means I will have to watch money even more carefully until the big move. However, it also means I don't have to bother with a two week notice - which should make the move a lot less complicated.

I'm going over to Leeds with my parents on Wednesday to look for a flat. I might be a big boy now but it's handy to have people who're experienced in actually looking at places and know what they're talking about when it comes to renting a flat. Also, some of the money I'm using to move is coming as a loan from them so it's just easier if they come across. Being able to put the money down right on the spot will be a big advantage. I just hope the whole trip can be pulled off without there being a huge argument between the two of them. Fingers crossed.

This weekend has been somewhat disappointing, mainly because I wasn't able to afford to go to Unconvention yesterday as I'd planned. A big letdown for me and my friend Ryan, we'd been planning a visit to the annual Fortean Times convention pretty much since we met over 3 years ago. Bummer, especially since it was purely down to financial inconvenience. I'm still wrangling with my phone company to get reconnected as well, despite having payed my bill a couple of days ago. It's all good fun, hopefully things will pull together soon - right now I just wish I could run down to Coventry for a while to see Mortimer but circumstances dictate otherwise. Gnaaaah.
