A moderately interesting weekend. Spent Friday night at my local club, the usual carousing and dancing went down. Only this week with added braids to fling in the faces of innocent bystanders. No one has either hit me or protested yet, so I will continue to have scant regard for my fellow human beings while I dance until I either get twatted for it or someone slaps a lawsuit on me.

Saturday was spent in Lancaster. I went there to attend an hardcore-esque all-dayer at the small yet splendid Yorkshire House, although I ended up leaving quite a while before any of the main bands came on. Worthwhile mentions go to Everette and Ten Minute Relapse (my friend Shaun's band), but the band of the day were for me a threepiece from Birmingham called Esquilax. They were a sort of high-speed, screamy grindcore affair with 10 second songs. Only they had four things that set them apart from other such acts:

1. They played the entire gig with their backs to the crowd, in front of the stage.

2. They had a drum machine and electro noises that were pure '80s. Little squelchy bleeps and everything. Class.

3. The singer actually did just yelp and scream noise with no words, rather than just sounding like he did.

4. They wore pirate costumes.

Need I say more?

Other than that, I spent a lot of time with my friend Brianna who I haven't seen since the last time I was in Lancaster - way back in January. It was cool but a bit confusing. Read into that what you will. She's coming to visit next weekend, so we shall devastate this dump with our sheer exuberant presence. Oh yes. While there I also managed to acquire some releplaying books that had proved tricky until now to locate. A geeky touch to the weekend that left me extra-satisfied.

Everyone... do the monkey with me!
