I woul like to speak about prostitution because I have a very short discussion with some of you about it.
I just explain one point today and I will do it during many days.
Does prostitution make rapes decrease ?
No it doesn't.
1. you have to understand rape has nothing to do with sex. Let's take an example. If I give you a slap, you won't say "it is like a hard an violent caress on my cheek". But I use my hand and you cheek.
It is exactly the same for rape and sex. Sex has nothing to do with rape. rape is violence which uses sex.
Foucault said we had to stop using the word sex into the laws. I think he was right.
60 % of rapes are commited in France by men who are close to you ; friends, parents. They are not some dumb people in a dark place with a knife.
2. Prostitutes are very often raped. If you know very well some prostitutes, just ask to tell you all the rapes they lived.
That's easy to rape a prostitute, she is alone, in a dark place and now in France is far from centers of town.
3. But let's imagine prostitution will make rape decrease.
ok. It menas you are ready to sacrifice some persons for you own sexuality. You are ready to give some humans to rapists to protect yourself.
so I suggest something. We always do 1 year of prostitution. So we can have the feeling to be useful for society.

j'aime le regard qu'elle porte sur les femmes, j'ai beaucoup aim son approche du viol dans "Baise-moi", ce refus de se victimiser pour pouvoir dire : "tu me fais du mal?ben moi je t'emmerde", c'est dommage effectivement pour le film, que je n'ai pas aim non plus, beaucoup de gens y ont vu une apologie du viol, n'ont pas compris pourquoi cette fille se blinde comme ...je l'aime bien parce qu'elle dit des choses fortes simplement mais avec justesse et sensibilit, mme sous un aspect parfois violent..disons que je me sens mille fois plus proche d'elle que de tous les pseudo-discours fministes ( ce propos ton t-shirt est criant de vrit!), j'ai lu tous ses romans, et s'ils sont loin d'tre parfaits, je me suis souvent dit en la lisant "mais t'as tout compris toi! voil ce que je ressens"
That's not to say that I think prostitution should be illegal though.
