Today, I will speak about french riots.
It is hard to explain even in french. It is absolutly true there is racism, discrimination against people from the 3rd generation of immigration in France. In France when your name is Mohammed, you don't find a job.
But we have to take attention these young people have no politic revendications.
My generation (30 years old) was more involded in politics, they created associations as "don't touch my buddy" (which mean don't touch my black or arab buddy). They were less sexist too.
In the 90's with the development of capitalism and individualim, young people in suburbs become capitalist and individualist as all french people. But there were differencies between their dreams and realities.
as they become individualist they don't have respect any more for public properties as schools or playgroung fields. that's what we see right now.
I can understand (understand not apologize) if a young people burn a BMW in a rich area of Paris. We always repeat to him ; a nice car is the only way TO BE and he will never have money or this car. But I think it is a real problem when they are going to burn schools where maybe her little brother came.
I always said capitalism and individualism create pain. when you said to someone "capitalism is the only wxay to live but YOu you are going to stay outside" it is cruelty.
But we don't have to forget these young men just act as shit. I can not accept free acts without any political revendications.

I saw the Eiffel Tower, the site where the Bastille was, the Louvre, the Pantheon, Notre Dame de Paris, and the famous cemetary where Jim Morrison is buried. I also went to some bars, like the Mannequin Pis and the Ten Bar. It was wonderful.
