there's a small cabin on the back of the farm...so far back that it has no electricty and no running water. there is a well of the hand-pump spigot sort and kerosene lamps for light at night. the best part is that it's accessible only by four wheeler.

for the last eight years my best friend and i have rocked back and forth across this nation. he's saved my life a few times and i saved his by giving him a home. the adventures are too many to recount here and now though i am slowly committing them to page. you can boil it down like this -- he gave me a purpose in life.

thursday morning he had what seemed to be an abscess on his jaw. by thursday evening his whole jaw and neck had swollen badly. we made an emergency trip to the vet only to find out that he has lymphoma.

due to his age and heart condition we can't treat it with chemo so he's on prednisone to keep the swelling at bay. sadly this drug only works for a month or so at which time the cancer adapts and attacks again.

so we're gonna live out in the cabin until i have to kill my bestfriend, except for sundays and mondays which we'll use to gather supplies for the coming week, watch nascar and arrested development before heading back out into the thick of nature.

...this will be his funeral dirge...we're also taking suggestions for more music.

by the by, i got my sg dvd yesterday...fantasticly wonderful. really.
