It has been so long since we got to play that it's hard to remember where we left off. Good thing I take notes (notetaking has been instilled in me since the beginning). After hearing of possibilities of adventure in the northern mountains we go to visit a man named Mastas at an inn. He isn't there. Leave. on the way around town. Our large barbarian Drako (played by Adam) is assaulted by a halfling with some kind of complex. They wrestle around in the middle of the street for a while until Drako comes out of his rage. At which point he chucks the halfling away and walks away. The rest of us follow. Not much later a human ranger tells the priestess (played by Karen) that she should come immediatly and that what is there might interest her then looks at me (Haplo, Novice of the Cornicopia, summonner) and says it might interest me as well. We follow him to an inn. Outside the inn is a burly angry looking dwarf who appraises us then steps out of the way. Inside the inn is a wizard of the Azure Tower (like me) who is dead. He is missing an arm and two legs at the knee which we discover was caused by acid. The rangers (3 total) found him flying down the road in this condition his fly spell ended he collapsed and in his dying words spat out - black ghost must retrieve Gilthor. He also left a scroll on the table which is now covered in black powdery substance (thinking it might be flammable we avoid it). Come to discover it was chalk and the scroll had been copied by the dwarf out front no less. The scroll talks of prophecies and stuff. I send my intelligent dog familiar to go find dwarf with no luck. Discussion... I decide that I need to find another Blue Tower Wizard so that this dead one can be taken back to the Tower. Me and Lucky (halfling played by Brian) head to the crappy halfling library while the priestess goes to the temples in town and we leave Drako at the tavern. I look for signs of a blue tower wizard or an associated shop. Find one a shoddy shop that inside is immaculately nice. Ask some questions. Get an emergency scroll to contact the Blue Tower. Explain the dead wizard to them (this sort of thing doesn't happen often) they get Raul (the shop owner) to hire people to get the wizards body back to the tower and ask me to investigate his death. At the library discover a nursery rhyme that mentions Gilthor. The priestess gets some other intformation that leads us to believe that Gilthor is a staff of some type. Meanwhile the halfling with a complex starts another fight with Drako which ends in a KTFO for the barbarian. Also a rift is caused here between Drako and the priestess (something about not healing him). Angry halfing chasing follows nothign to important... We recruit the rangers to go with us on the journey. After a long trip, during which we mysteriously lose one of the rangers to telekinesis or something as he goes flying away into the air, we reach a stone bridge across a chasm pockmarked with acid (recurring theme?). strange things happen. eventually we cross the bridge. At which point we spot enemies? who have already searched the place we are apparently heading to. End.
