I'm here looking at my bookmarks and come across cristi's journal, where she's got nothing fun to do. It occurs to me that I have a suggestion, and would like to share with everyone (well, whoever reads this).
You should go out and find little Johnny. You know, the ten year old kid who delivers the paper/mows the lawn/shovels snow/spraypaints demonic symbols on your car. Just any kid who likes to be gainfully employed. Hire him to go on a trip to the nearest airport to play a "fun game."
You should pick a suitable target, such as the nice salesman in a hurry and chatting on the cell, or the flamin' gay couple of dudes(rare in my area, but oh so worth it) and trail them. About the time your target nears one of our super edgy security personnel, little Johnny should sidle up and say enthusiastically, "Please, please, uncle Bob, can I see the bomb again?"
Ah. Good times... good times.... biggrin

I sort of know something. My friend is a computer security genius and out of college his starting salary was 70k. However the guy who got him the job got about the same but out of high school. So I have been looking myself for a graduate program but it isn't exactly necessary. The trick is if you can find security holes. Mostly nowadays that relates to websites. So you need to be able to do cross site scripting, sql injection, etc. So I have a good idea of what I have to learn but the way I see hacking is almost as an art rather then a skill because you really have no way of knowing for sure where you will find a hole. You just have to guess. But on the upside my friend has also told me that there is a huge shortage of qualifed people, hence the crazy salaries and that some people just use standard security programs like Nessus.
