I'm having great fun with my vacation. So much sleeping. I may even catch up eventually.

This has also been a wicked fun party summer for me. New avenues have been explored and much dancing has been done. Hopefully at least some of this can keep happening once the "party summer" is over.

Helped danny_g move. I can take the credit for at least some of the unpacked-by-five that resulted.

My quest to be less fat seems to be going well. I am going to irritate the living heck out of whomever has to do the fitting on my ginormous wedding dress. smile

And, of course, there's theatre stuff. We have two things coming up - A performance:

Scorpio theatre presents, as part of the 2006 Calgary Fringe Festival

The Very Long Night of Tyler and Selena

It's amazing what can happen in one night

Tyler is having a very bad night. His girlfriend just broke up with him, he can't seem to get anything done for his big meeting in the morningeverything just seems to be unravelling. Then he meets Selena and finds out that there are a lot of people in the world having a worse night than he is. Soon he's seeing a side of the city he never even knew existed and looking at his life in a whole new light. (Warnings: language and adult content.)

Starring Rich Croteau, Heather Korol, Aaron Conrad, Jane Phillips, John Tebbutt, Trevor J. Worden, Jason Goethals, Gina Stewart, and Thera Body, the 75-minute The Very Long Night of Tyler and Selena, by award-winning playwright Dan Gibbins, will be performed at Stage 2 of the 2006 Calgary Fringe Festival (Calgary Opera Wesley Church, Cabaret), 1315 7th Street South West, on the following dates and times:
Friday, August 11th, 2006 10:30 pm
Monday, August 14th, 2006 1:30 pm
Thursday, August 17th, 2006 8:30 pm
Friday, August 18th, 2006 3:30 pm
Saturday, August 19th, 2006 5:30 pm

Tickets are $10 and are available at the door or on-line through the Calgary Fringe web site.

Note: Knoll, also written by Dan Gibbins, will be performed by Go See a Play in the 2006 Calgary Fringe Festival as well.

And an audition:

Scorpio Theatre is holding auditions for Quarter Century by Dan Gibbins.

When: Wednesday, August 9th, 2006, 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm
Where: The Cappuccino rehearsal space
Lower level of the Community Arts Centre on the old Currie Barracks
Building A3, 2633 Hochwald Avenue South West
What to Prepare: Please bring a 1-2 minute monologue, either dramatic or comedic.

We are looking for 3 men and 3 women that can play twenty-somethings. (This does not mean you actually have to be in your twenties.)

Synopsis:
When do you stop wondering what you want to be when you grow up? Six friends in their mid-twenties are trying to figure out how adulthood works. Xavier's not sure he can be a typical grown-up, while his attorney wife Miranda wishes he'd start trying. Riley's looking for direction in his life, while Angela fights to avoid the direction everyone thinks she should head in. Theresa's tired of solving everyone's problems while her own go unnoticed, and Bobby's too busy experimenting to figure out what he wants. A play about the fine line between youth and grown-ups, and how easy it is to trip over. (Warnings: language and adult content.)

Performance dates are October 18th - 28th, 2006 at Dancers' Studio West (2007 10th Avenue South West). Rehearsals will most likely be Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm and Sunday afternoons from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm.

Please call (403)-999-2024 or e-mail <scorpio.info@shaw.ca> for further information and to book your audition time.

See everyone soon!

There are times when I wonder if you pay a little too much attention to my internet habits. Also, you're the only one who noticed.
