I made it home... finally. Here's a rundown of my week.
* we flew out to Alberta on Friday evening, my ex picked us up & took us to the house
* bored, my bro flipped through my dvd book and decided to watch the Battlestar Galactica mini-series, and then seasons 1, 2, & 2.5
* he went out in the -20'c weather to get season 3 at a nearby electronics store - I've created a monster, lol.
* whenever we weren't packing or sleeping, we watched BSG (it was so awesome to watch all the episodes again, there was definately stuff I had missed)
* despite all of the Battlestar Galactica goodness, my brother and I packed up my 3 bed, 2 bath house (with basement) in 8 days.
* I got rid of *so* much stuff! My kitchen and dining area were full of stuff to donate/give away. I gave away a ton of stuff through freecycle. Fourteen boxes of books went
One guy took a whole bunch, came back for some more, and then gave me a box of Cadbury cookies (SCORE!!!)
* I was up at 6:30am Saturday morning and packed/tidied til my brother woke up & my girlfriend came over to help. My ex eventually showed up to help my brother with loading.
* the money issues were not resolved while I was there.... in fact, they got worse. The ball is rolling on getting that stuff taken care of, but that could take about three months. Ugh.
* we drove for about five hours before we realised that our trip debit card was lost
so that sucked. Thank goodness for Pagz who bailed me out BIG time. That boy is going to have so many cookies baked for him!!!
* since neither of us were that tired, we decided to drive through the night. It was some great bonding time... I learned all kinds of things about my brother.
* we made it to the Tswassen ferry terminal at about 4am (yes, Heckler, I did make a few of those minor detours I'm so famous for
). Fifteen hours. Wow. It was just after 9am that we finally rolled to a stop in front of our mom's house.
* the truck isn't due back til Wednesday at noon, so we're going to take our time unloading.
* many many many many thanks to everyone who sent messages, wished us luck, and texted me along the way. I'm sorry I couldn't text back, but please know how wonderful I think you guys are.
