AUTUMN EQUINOX

The fall equinox, also known as Mabon, is upon us! On this day the sun makes its way through the northern hemisphere to the southern which makes our days and nights feel almost equal all over the world. The summer heat and sunshine starts to fade away and darkness begins to overshadow light. As we celebrate the equinox we honor the duality of the dark and the light as well as the divine masculine and the divine feminine. We also honor all of the abundance found here on earth. Energetically, this is the time of year where we harvest the seeds we’ve planted and savor the fruits of our labors.

As we enter the fall we also enter into Libra season blessing us with the gifts of harmony, balance, love, and partnership. Now’s the time to reevaluate all the things that are holding you back from being able to receive these gifts. We’re asked to connect to our clear, true selves and nurture wholeness during this transition. As the leaves start to change and the air gets crispy we begin to feel the energetic shift all around us reminding us that as the seasons change, so do we. It can be quite challenging to go through a period of what can feel like a literal death (seasonal depression is real) but one thing to keep in mind is that there’s light at the end of the tunnel and rebirth always follows. When we bring awareness to and accept this natural reoccurrence in the cycle of life, it makes it easier to be in flow as we observe the shift and not react to the intense feelings/emotions that may come up.

Fall is also a time of rest, relaxation, release and surrender. One of the best ways to use this energy is to reflect on what has transpired so far and set new intentions for the remainder of the year by creating balance and harmony in our lives. It is through introspection and stillness that we’re able to transmute the fear and anxiety that may show up around this time of year, and become a magnet for the support and love we desire on our path to wholeness.

FOCUS:

In a journal or notepad, answer these questions to the best of your ability: ”How am I calling in balance into my life? How can I be more balanced? What needs to be released in order to cultivate balance? What have I been growing in my garden of thoughts? How does this serve me?”

Once you’ve answered these questions, meditate on the ways in which you can align with balance and harmony. It only takes a few moments of stillness to bring us to a state of peace, balance, and harmony.
