A lot of times people prevent themselves from opening up new doors to new relationships and potential friends because of a lack of trust in people, and because they fear that people may treat them like others in the past who have caused significant damage.

Don't run from new relationships. Start trusting. Of course you should use your instincts to try and prevent yourself from harmful situations, but you should keep a positive mindset when it comes to meeting new people.

Take a chance and you may be pleasantly surprised. Even if someone breaks your trust in the future, know that there is nothing wrong with trusting, and the fault lies with them and not with you. Don't let that person harden your heart to others, you might miss out on what life has in store for you.
