Ohhh kk.... I've been in swan river (well, more accurately, I've been in Minitonas, a lil village about 20kms from Swan) for the lasdt couple days... you know.. family, easter (despite the fact that no one in the family could call themselves christian except maybe my mom... she attended a regular service a couple years ago.. for me it's 16 years and counting.. my dad is a little less than me.. my sister is sitting at 10 i believe)

Tonite was crazy.. I got home at like 1am.. so i wander in and meet my mom in the hall on the way to the can.. i just tell her that i'm gonna go for a walk and that i couldn't take the dogs cause it'd just rile them up before bed. when she went back to bed i got out my tin, pipe, lighter and went out for a walk

now keep in mind, this is 1:00am in a town of 600 people. The bar with it's 3 regular patrons won't be kicking those 3 out for another hour or two and all the younguns are out at bush parties or whathaveyou so the streets are completely dead.

no cars. no people. no animals. just me, the streetlamps, dark buildings and the distant hum of the highway intermingling with the bellows of cows from all directions.

so I walked the yellow line dividing the road and smoked a bowl. i had to laugh though... back in high school.. and junior high... and elementary... :\ I was the typical socially disabled kid with no real sense of the outside world. And of course, with the valley being both physically and socially isolated from the rest of the world, my knowledge of the "outside world" consisted of my knowledge of the valley.. it's kinda of like being locked inside a house, inside a snow dome... ANYWAYS back from my horrendous tangent... I had to laugh because, even just 5 years ago, I was that person and now I'm this hott (or at least I think I am tongue) guy wearing a hott jacket (i love my jacket ^_^) smokin a bowl in the middle of the street.

bleh.. it's odd.. every time i come here it's like i warp back to '97 (that's 8 years now *shudder*) because, with the exception of the two local schools and the now non-existant grain elevator, nothing at all has changed in this small town. Only a select few houses have traded hands; hell, even the elderly folk I grew up around are still around (Save for Mr B :\ he was a good guy, always had chocolate bars waiting in the freezer for me tongue).. but i walk around and think about who i am now as opposed to who i was and i can actually see this kid spending his days biking in the rain and playing super nes... and now.. egads.. it's hard to believe sometimes that i'm actually the same person.. i mean.. it's not like i think i'm this god now and it's not like i don't bike or play super nes anymore.. i can see elements of the old me in me now.. gah..

this is why i don't go home!!

oh ps: i gotst me inked! pics shall flow through this journal like water through a brita! but not tonite
