well howdy!
1) as you may or may not remember/know i am volunteering to be part of an amazing youth challenge international trip/project next summer. each group member for our project must raise $3000 as well as the cost of airfare and any other personal expenses (one man tents, hiking boots, insect repellent, etc). all money raised at the event will be used to fund our 2011 literacy project in rural Guyana.
if you'd like to help at all and have some extra cash burning a hole in your bank account... feel free to send it my way! i'll be forever grateful... as will the children we will be helping once we get there!
last night i held my own personal huge "get 'em to guyana" fundraiser and raised $1000!!!!!
i had amazing bands, wicked prizes for the auctions and just a phenomenal turn-out of supportive and wonderful people! thank you to everyone who made it out... for those of you who couldn't, my entire volunteer group will be holding another fundraiser in the new year so keep your eyes peeled for more info!
2) i am in the midst of preparing my life for 2 weeks of research paper writing. i have been maintaining a wonderfully high GPA this semester and plan on keeping it by working my butt off on these papers. i'll be updating more once they're done and i can breathe once more.
3) once all of my papers are in i'll have just about the entire month of december to myself. along with this personal time i will also be:

- baking cookies at my gramma's house with my sister and cousins (teaching my oldschool european grandmother how to bake vegan treats!)
- painting. so. much. i'm broke so christmas presents will be mostly handmade again this year!
- hopefully hanging out with and getting to know someone awesome i met recently.
- reading skinny bitch and whatever else i can get my hands on that isn't school related
- etc.
