Spent 4 hours in a meeting Tuesday. Four hours of my life I am never going to get back. I have discovered in some respects I am still quite naive about things. When you get invited to a project meeting, the people doing the inviting don't actually want to know what you think. Mostly you're there to nod, smile and agree with what you're being told. Likewise being patronised is one of my favourite things. However keeping my mouth shut isn't one of my strongest capabilities.
So the hero of our tale tells it like it is upsets a few people and makes a fairly senior manager look a bit of a dick as I point out how retarded his objection was to one of the points I made. Still I may get the last laugh I did spot a fairly large hole in their planning of this is the thing that is most likely to happen, its a risk that hasn't been mitigated against. It may not come to much but sadly for those concerned I've come to the conclusion that they weren't that concerned with my opinion so fuck it, for once I'm going to keep my own counsel on this one.
In other news I've pull/strained the ligaments in my left foot/ankle, so for the last week I've been limping around. Fortunately now its mostly stopped hurting which is good, as Sunday it was so painful that referring to it as absolute agony, would leave me no way of describing what it was like to be hoofed really hard in the balls.
Still on the search for a new job, a few applications sent off and waiting on. Really hoping that I get something before I hit the point where I have a full on melt down, however if you do hear about someone going bonkers in and office in Bristol, and spree killing there is a moderately good chance it will be me.
Really impressed some of my more liberal colleagues today. Currently my theory on why penal legions in the armed forces are a good idea and would fix most of the issues with society has not been universally accepted as the correct way forward.
