So doctors appointment didn't bring happy news today...Emmalynn is in transverse lie position which means her head is on my right side and her but is on my left side. Needless to say this is not a good birthing position...even breech (butt first) would be better. So I have been researching all of these different ways to get her to turn so she is head or butt down for delivery. (The longer that she stays transverse lie the less likely she will turn because of decreased room for her to move as the days pass) Some of the recommendations are crazy such as stand on your head in a warm pool...which I couldn't do on a good day before I was pregnant. Pelvic tilt exercises...shine a flashlight on your pubic bone...put ice pack over the area her head is and a warm pack at your pubic bone so she will move in the right direction...play classical music at your pubic bone, have your husband talk and call her name while resting his head on your pubic bone... there is also a version where you kneel on the couch and rest your elbows on the floor so you are partially inverted. I am willing to try it all except for the head stand in the warm water.
Oh and I am also contracting..although I can't feel most of the contractions they were showing up on the monitor so we have a little time crunch going here....I have until Friday to get her to turn. Hopefully the contractions stop as well.
