My girlfriend and I separated, last night.
It wasn't why you think, either. She felt that it was becoming too difficult to maintain a relationship at the distance we are, and that we would probably work fine as friends considering how long we've been together.
So, that's it. Singledom. I'm not bitter or angry, since it was a kind of mutual thing. I am however, very sad. I love her and I always have. You don't just forget that. However, I am going to see her for new year since we decided to just be friends over the phone. We'll have a nice time, and affirm our friendship.
Her parents will probably feel a bit weird about it, but them's the breaks.
After that, we'll give each other some breathing space. I'm going to have about 10-11 days worth of recovery until I see her.
