Well we made it back from vacation OK. The weather didn't allow much for sunrise pics which is something I always look forward to, but we stayed up late and I wasn't exactly springing out of bed @ 5 a.m. either. Still nice to get away and forget about work and schedules. -and with the holiday Mon. next week will be a short one. it'll...

I'm glad you liked the set! ^_^

As for shooting outdoors you can do one of two things:

Use a strobe/flash to fill in the shadows. This will give you the most control as you can diffuse the flash and angle it any way you want - regardless of the position of the sun.

You can also use a reflector to reflect the sun to minimize shadows in her face.

If you are using a white reflector, it will be a really soft reflection and won't look harsh at all. The silver and gold reflectors typically give a more harsh reflection of light.

My brain is full of shredded cheese anyways, so I went to a cool punk show at the Milestone Club. I keep hearing a tele in my ear, cause I decided the best place to take photos was right by this house of a speaker. after 3 visits to this place it remains i think the hardest photo op. i have experienced.

worked 6:30-2:30 Friday then went home for a couple of hours before a wedding shoot that was set for 6pm. After driving 50 minutes to the church, I got there only 10 minutes early, but found that the bride and groom had not even arrived yet. The "6pm" wedding commenced at 7:20pm. After the service and some photos we left at 8:00 to drive to...

while I was on break at work I saw a girl across from me drawing in her sketch pad. I thought it was a good opportunity so I asked if I could take her picture while she drew. I shot the photo then took it home to create some "art" of my own. I am happy to say she liked it as much as I...

i was taking my camera to work with me today, cause I thought I might take a few pics, and as I was getting out of my car trying to hold my keys and soda and camera bag I dropped the bag. Not far, mind you, but enough that it broke the 28-200mm USM lens off...

[late response from I-who-never-logs-in...] I had a great time at the Beach Party. Sorry, again, that plans got switched and TheFox & I ended up sleeping elsewhere. She did have the good idea, though -- if she hasn't mentioned this to you already -- that we should visit sometime just to hang out with you two, non-SG-style. What say?

Sorry to hear about the lens. I'm not sure what to tell you about a replacement. I'm guessing we're talking about a lot of money?
