So it's about time I start taking blogging a bit more seriously.
The other day I got a new cell phone; it's my first phone with a camera on it (yes, i have been living under a rock for the past 5 years) and I've recently been rediscovering a lost love for photography. Of course the camera phone isn't exactly a good shot or anything, so I've made plans to drive down to my Mom's house to pick up my old Canon and my lenses.
It's nice to finally have something to get my off the couch again. Not that I'm growing tired of gaming, not at all, I mean it's still what has paid the rent for the past 8 months! I just needed a reason to go outside. I've also been re-experiencing my city from an viewpoint I'd nearly forgotten about. Seeing even a place you've grown used to through the lens of a camera seems like viewing it again for the first time.
I can't wait to move away still though; Montana has begun to grow stale and old for me. I need the rains of northern California and the sand. God I can't remember the last time I touched sand. It's such an amazing feeling, that crunchy feeling, you know what I mean. And some new faces, for the love of god!!! I see the same people three times a day, even the people I don't know! It's ridiculous! And I know that Arcata is a small town, but it'll still take me a bit of time to get to grow accustomed to them.
And I've just always liked new beginnings.
